Awards target still more nominations

Last year around  3800 restaurants, more than a third of the total in the UK, received at least one public nomination  for the British Curry Awards (BCA)  and in total  more than 68,000 nominations were received from members of the public,   the highest  figure ever. The BCA are not resting on their laurels however and have teamed up with Just Eat, which has a data base of more than 2 million people, to try and smash that record once again this year. “WIth the help of Just Eat we are confident we will break 100,000 nominations for the first time ever,” says BCA founder, Enam Ali MBE.”With their contacts we will be able to reach out to more people than ever before.”

The British Curry Awards, now in their eighth year, have become the country’s main showcase for the £3.5 billion a year curry industry. The winners of the British Curry Awards will be announced at the Battersea Evolution, London, on Monday 26th November 2012 and it promises to be an even more glamorous and spectacular event than ever before, one which will celebrate the industry’s involvement with the Olympics. Prepare to be amazed!

Alongside the usual categories, there will be one new one this year – Best Delivery Restaurant. This will be open to restaurants that are takeaways only and also those restaurants that offer a home delivery service. This category will be judged on a nation-wide basis. There will also be the usual high level guests and presenters and a quality programme of entertainment.
