The rapper 50 Cent recently popped into Newcastle’s Dabbawal ahead of a concert at the Metro Radio Arena, enjoying the Punjabi Chilli Chicken Tikka. The dish also proved a hit during Newcastle Restaurant Week, which ran from January 18th to 24th.

Jalf Ali, owner of Dabbawal, winner of the UK’s Best Casual Dining Restaurant at the British Curry Awards 2015, said: “We’re very proud to maintain our relationship with NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week. We were one of the 13 restaurants which took part in the first event back in 2011 and to be a part of the event’s growth and success in the last five years has been phenomenal.”

For Jalf the week is a fantastic opportunity to open his doors to new and returning customers, and showcase what is unique about Dabbawal. “We look to offer the best of our menu and show the people of Newcastle something fresh and exciting. Customers get to sample a little bit of what we do here with street food, kebabs, curries and grills.”
